Nepal Coops Push Forward BCP Preparation amidst COVID-19 CrisisÂ
- Date : Thursday November 05, 2020
- Venue :
Nineteen (19) Nepalese SACCOS attended the 5th workshop on Business Continuity Plan in a COVID-19 World on November 3-5. The virtual training was co-organized with the Nepal Federation of Savings and Credit Cooperative Unions (NEFSCUN). The training was able to deploy the Business Continuity Plan using the template developed by ACCU.
Based on the WHO country report as of November 25, Nepal has now reached 224,077 confirmed cases and 1,361 deaths from coronavirus since March. This situation has raised the need for SACCOS to prepare its BCP focused on the recovery of members. Participants recognized that a member approach recovery is needed since the SACCOS foundation are members. The recovery of the SACCOS largely depends on the recovery of members.
With the BCP at hand, these SACCOS can be in a better position to work their way to resiliency, in ensuring financial viability to members, employees, and the institution itself.
All participants are expected to complete their business continuity plan and present it to ACCU during their graduation ceremony on December 4.
